How much do you charge per session?
I charge £55.00 per 50 minute session.
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes - my entire practice is on-line via Zoom
Do you offer telephone counselling?
I can offer telephone counselling if you are unable to have counselling via Zoom.
Are you qualified to work online?
Yes, in addition to my counselling qualifications, I am a Certified Cyber Therapist. This means that I have undertaken comprehensive training through OTI - the Online Therapy Institute to ensure I am working proficiently and ethically online.
Are you seeing clients face to face at the moment?
No - my practice is now exclusively online with the exception of Telephone Therapy.
How often will I need to see you?
Ideally, counselling is a weekly commitment but regularity of sessions are discussed with each client at the start of therapy and I do have some fortnightly slots available for those clients on a budget.
How long will I need counselling for?
The length of time is entirely your choice. I can offer short term counselling if time or finances are limited, but I do tend to work longer term with most clients, depending on the nature of the issue they bring.
Will you give me advice?
As your Therapist, I will not give you advice or solve your problems for you. I will listen to your story, help you look at things from a different angle and give you a better understanding of the issue to enable you to make positive changes yourself.
How soon can I see you?
Usually, once you have had your free telephone assessment, I can normally see you within one week, depending on availability at the time of the call.
Do you work with children?
No. I work with adults aged 18+ years.
If you have a child aged 11-18 years needing help, they I can refer you to some excellent Child Therapists based in Southend-on-Sea. Alternatively, your child can access Kooth.com - Kooth is a transformational on-line mental health support service giving children and young people easy access to an online community of peers and access to a team of experienced counsellors. Do you work with couples?
No. I work on a 1-2-1 basis with clients experiencing relationship issues but if you would like to try couples therapy, I can give you details of local therapists I can recommend.
