Christmas Dates

Is my problem "bad enough" for Counselling?

Are you the kind of person who usually tells everyone that you're "Fine", including yourself, even when you're not really fine at all?

Well the past 18 months or so since Covid arrived has been quite an experience to say the least (the VERY least!)

I've seen so many people trying to put a brave face on things for a long time now - many trying to "Keep Calm and Carry On" whilst secretly feeling pretty awful.

But when you're not in a good place mentally, it can begin to feel like everything in life is starting to feel completely overwhelming and hopeless.

I'm guessing that if you're reading this - you might be one of the people who could be feeling this way and are wondering whether it's time to get some help that’s long overdue?

The trouble with living through the awful stories of Covid is that we can find ourselves looking at other people's problems, comparing them to ours and thinking "I shouldn't feel this bad, there are so many people worse off than me"

It's daft isn't it? We guilt trip ourselves out of getting the support we need by comparing ourselves to others, and yet those others aren't you.

They aren't living YOUR life.

If how you are feeling is starting to affect your life, the people you love, your work, then it's time to get some help now, BEFORE you reach crisis point.

Counselling really can help you to work through overwhelming problems that feel too big to wade through alone.

So many people have issues that family, loved ones and work colleagues can often know nothing about.

So many people hide their worries and fears because they don't want to "burden" people, they don't want to "upset" anyone and they don't want to be judged, especially if they feel they are repeating the same mistakes in life over and over again.

In my sessions, you'll get the chance to drop the brave face, stop pretending everything's okay and just feel the relief of telling me what it's really like to be you.

During your counselling sessions, we will look at what's really going on behind your smile.

This alone can be such a relief.

Just being able to talk to somebody neutral without fear of upsetting them or being judged can be a huge release and being able to say out loud what you're really feeling can be a game changer.

The result? Clarity and understanding about how you've been feeling and the confidence to make changes. What kind of changes?

My name is Samantha Lee and I'm a BACP Registered Counsellor and a Certified Cyber Therapist.
